AI-Powered Business Analyst Certificate Program

Are courses taught in class or online?
Courses may be taught online or in class at DePaul's Loop campus. Course materials are delivered through DePaul's D2L learning platform.
How long is the program?
The program runs for 10 weekly once a week from 6:00–9:00 PM CST, with breaks for the Thanksgiving and winter holidays. See "Course Availability" below for program dates.
Do I need prior education or work experience to enroll in the program?
It is suggested that students have at least 1–2 years of full-time relevant work experience and/or a bachelor's degree in business.
Do I need prior experience with AI?
No. The program starts with where you are today and builds from there. Experienced AI users will deepen their skills by moving from task-level use toward full human-AI synthesis.
Which AI tools will I use?
The program is tool-agnostic. You'll become familiar with the major platforms (Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, and OpenAI ChatGPT) and work primarily in the one that best fits you or your workplace. The focus is on transferable skills and judgment that keep their value as the tools change.
Will this program prepare me for IIBA certification?
The program is built on the BABOK® Guide v3, the reference for IIBA certification exams, and provides strong preparation. Certification requirements are set by IIBA and, for some levels, include documented work experience.
Does this program qualify for financial assistance through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)?
In order to find out if you qualify for financial assistance, you must first contact Workforce Development. As a certified program under the Illinois workNet initiative, this program has been approved in the past for workforce training grants for those who are eligible. Funding may be available for those receiving unemployment benefits. Please contact Workforce Development for more information.
What is the difference between a certificate and a certification?
A certificate is earned after completion of a course or a series of courses. Certificates are usually awarded by a training provider or an educational institution. Certification typically includes work experience and an educational component, and requires passing an exam. Certifications are awarded by governmental and/or professional agencies and often require recertification to remain current.
